Genot (jen-O) Picor is a public school teacher, educational consultant, psychologist, workshop designer and presenter. He is also a storyteller, musician, dancer and nature photographer. In addition, Genot is a published free-lance journalist and grant writer. Picor uses all his talents to bring an interactive frontier history alive to audiences of all ages. His program is ideal for schools, festivals, art shows, museums, libraries and corporations. Each presentation is individually designed to meet the needs and requests of the hosting agency. If you've ever seen him perform, you'll see that he looks, acts and sounds the part!

On September 28, 2003, Genot was honored with a Native name (Winter Elk) in a ceremony conducted by Mr. Leon Lochlear, Elder and President of Southeast Michigan Indians, Inc. Picor frequently performs as an ha'gaota (storyteller), woodland flutist and men's traditional dancer at Pow Wows, gatherings and drumming circles.

Picor has presented at the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Diamler-Chrysler Cultural Awareness Series held at the World Headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan, Education Days at Faire-At-The-Forks in Chatham, Ontario, the Macomb Intermediate School District in Clinton Township, Michigan, and Gallery Indigena, Stratford, Ontario. He has also worked as an educational consultant for Travel Adventures, Inc. His professional training as a psychologist, his understanding and application of "Theories of Best Practices" and "Multiple Intelligences" makes his visit ideal for cultural awareness seminars and workshops as well.

In addition, he is a member of the Mid-America Arts Alliance (maaa.org) and has toured with the Michigan Great Outdoors Culture Tour, sponsored by the Michigan Arts and Humanities Council. His appearance at your public, private or corporate event may be eligible for grant money from one of these agencies.
